Dosage for Donepezil Hydrochloride
In adults the suggested starting dose for Generic Aricept Donepezil is 5 milligrams once a day at bedtime for as a minimum 4 to 6 weeks. The dose must not be increased during this period unless you have been told to do so by your physician. The doctor may then change the dosage to 10 milligrams once a day if there is necessity for it.
Generic Aricept Donepezil has not been recommended for use in children.
How Supplied
Generic Aricept Donepezil® is offered in the market as film-coated, round tablets containing either 5 mg or 10 mg of donepezil hydrochloride. In all these tablets, the strengths of the tablets are written on one side and ‘ARICEPT’ imprinted on other side. For example, you will find the strength, in mg (5), imprinted on one side and ARICEPT imprinted on the other side.
The 5 mg tablets look white. The 10 mg tablets are yellow.
ARICEPT® ODT is supplied as tablets containing either 5 mg or 10 mg of donepezil hydrochloride.
The 5 mg orally disintegrating tablets are white. The 10 mg orally disintegrating tablets are yellow.

Storage: Store at controlled room temperature, 15° C to 30° C (59° F to 86° F).
Side Effects: Side effects are common withGeneric Aricept Donepezil Nausea. But they are transitory and minor. Some of the patients have observed loss of appetite, tiredness, drowsiness, vomiting, diarrhea, trouble sleeping, or muscle cramps. These effects typically last 1-3 weeks and then disappear. If any of these effects endure or aggravate, inform your doctor or pharmacist without delay. Some of the serious side effects are mental/mood changes (depression), slow/irregular heartbeat, fainting, vision problems, more frequent or trouble with urination, weight loss. Tell your doctor right away if any of these symptoms you notice.
There are some side effects that take place very rarely. But they can be risky. These are black stools, vomit that looks like coffee grounds, severe stomach/abdominal pain, seizures. If you notice other effects not listed here, make contact with your doctor or pharmacist.
